Korea Electric Power Corporation engages in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity and development of electric power resources in the Republic of Korea.

As of December 31, 2005, the company had in operation 637 substations with an installed transformer capacity of 208,504 megavolt-amperes; transmission system of approximately 28,642 circuit kilometers of lines of 765 kilovolts; and distribution system that comprised a total line length of 385,419 circuit kilometers.

It had an installed generating capacity of 55,956 megawatts, as of the above date.

Korea Electric Power provides electricity primarily to industrial, commercial, and residential customers, as well as to educational and agricultural customers.

The company was founded in 1961 and is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.
